And savorymomrecipes is my little corner of the internet!
I launched savorymomrecipes in the summer of 2018 while I was still crunching numbers as a corporate accountant in Dallas. A rainy Thursday, a half‑finished chicken stew, and a sudden craving for something comforting sparked my first blog post in March 2019. I posted that recipe with a shaky hand and a big smile, never imagining it would become a daily habit for anyone besides me.
Fast‑forward to today: the site now hosts more than 200 tested recipes, draws roughly 120 000 unique visitors each month, and has a newsletter community of 15 000 hungry readers. In 2022 Food Network featured my “One‑Pot Cajun Pasta” video, and last October I partnered with a local Austin kitchen to host a live cooking class that sold out in under an hour. Those milestones keep reminding me that a simple home‑cooked meal can still feel exciting.
I live in Austin, Texas, with my husband Mark and our two energetic kids, Lily (7) and Noah (4). When I’m not stirring a sauce, you’ll find me digging in the backyard garden, hunting for vintage 45‑rpm records, or perfecting my Sunday brunch pancake stack. My favorite things are fresh basil, the smell of rain on hot pavement, and the sound of my kids’ laughter echoing through the kitchen.
